Terry Oldfield, displaying both his mastery of the flute and his compositional skill, whisks listeners to a land of whimsy and daydreams with Celtic Blessing. Rather than utilizing traditional music as the album’s base, Oldfield has constructed four extended length cuts that capture the spirit of Ireland. His flute lies at the heart of each track, surrounded by lush synthesizers, vocal harmonies, lilting Celtic harp and the serene sounds of nature. The music has a very spacious, ethereal quality to it, similar to Oldfield’s Out of the Depths album only with a Celtic twist. Great for creating Irish ambience, the album is also perfect for relaxation, massage and stress relief practices.
