A new Deuter album is always a cause for celebration because this master of new age music creates some of the most likeable, endearing and long-lasting instrumental music around. His newest album is IMMORTELLE which was named after a medicinal plant, but which could also describe this virtually immortal musician who has released more than 60 albums in the past 45 years, and who received the prestigious Zone Music Reporter “Lifetime Achievement Award” earlier this year.
Deuter is a pioneer and leader of the new age music scene. Never concentrating on just one instrument, he says he thinks of music like painting and likes to use many different colors and sounds. On this album you will hear some instruments he is especially known for (flutes, cello, synthesizer), but also piano, harp, strings, hand drums, violin, guitar and chimes. The music is soft and gentle, relaxing and healing, meaningful and life-affirming. Highly recommended.
